Okay,

From my purely biased point of view, I think the Milano is superior
as a driver (duck, I hear incoming!!!), the K35 controller is more
like a "Clyde" (only Melbourne Brisbane and Sydney enthusiasts or
drivers would understand that and it's to hard to explain) with "line
switch" built in ie' easy to drop out. The controller was smoother
and no tendency to "blister" the notches. The brakes on a W2 are self
lapping and are more practicle for heavy traffic BUT, I prefer the
Milano manual lapping brakes and found no trouble keeping up with
traffic etc. Then I have the experience in those brakes at speed
having been a motorman in Adelaide for two years and that's what they
use, though a different version, like the Birney.

The W2 is quieter due to double helical gears but, as a fan, nothing
beats the sounds of spur (straight) gears and a bit faster (correct
me if I'm wrong, the Milano has 30 or 35hp motors? W2's have 40hp)
The driving position and view on the Milan is far superior than the
W2 so, overall, give me a Milano anyday.

Greg, the driver!
