Tram car numbering (was route numbers.)

I vaguely remember seeing a list including come now discontinued

numbers, but I can't find the URL. I'll keep trying.

109, 112. I think they picked them because they were big numbers.
Like numbering the B's from 2000 up. Gives them a more modern feel.
A merketing decision, not a historical one.

But the tram numbering system has worked out well actually. As posted
to vicrail-news group some time ago:
1-1999 Single section cars
2000-2999 Two section cars (Bs)
3000-3999 Three section cars (citadis and combinos)
5000-5999 Five section cars (combinos)
