Way too heavy. That would soak up enough power to
light the whole of Adelaide.
From memory the PCCs weighed 18 short tons (2,000
lb ton) so would have a much higher power to weight ratio.

It weighs 26 tons, 3 more than a Glenelg tram. It was designed (in 1939, although construction was postponed until 1952 by WWII) for general use and for replacing some of the older cars in the fleet.
