Adelaide Trip March 2002

I
had the pleasure of enjoying Adelaide earlier this week. The following posts
include some photos of the Glenelg operations. Unfortunately, I did not see the
refurbished trams in operation. Three of the five rebuilds are back in service.
The crews I spoke to say that are a bit of a dissapointment performance wise -
the chopper control makes then slower compared to the racehourse-like
acceleration of the other cars.
The
attached photo shows the outside of the former City Depot in Angas Street, City.
The depot closed in 1986 when Glengowrie Depot opened at Morphettville Road. At
this time the trolley poles were replaced by pantos.
