Yep, that's it. Peter Bruce will be glad to know they never put those apron lights on it.
 
It made one hell of a racket in that little room when it was functioning.
 
I found it fascinating.
 
I worked there for a couple of months writing a bus driver training manual for the M&MTB which had been winging it with bus driver trainees for years. I don't know if they ever published the manual after I finished it or not. I left the Training Department after the manual and went over to Brunswick as a driver, then quit. I drew on the best bits of driver training manuals from the San Francisco Municipal Railway, London Transport, Los Angeles Rapid Transit District, New York Port Authority and the Frankfurt Stadtbahn. There was some real fine clear stuff in those manuals. It was all pre-computer.

Seems that the idea was that the more of the works you
could see the better a driver you were!
