Trams and Football.

The shot of the VR car at Windy Hill brings me to two
of my favourite subjects,trams and football,I can
contribute on this,on trolleybuses I am strictly a
fascinated observer.For out-of-town[Melbourne]TDUs the
AFL Grand Final is played on the last Saturday of
September and is a big,big occasion in this town
attended by about 100,000 people these days.The photo
I have attached dates from 1970 and that year there
were 121,696 at the game to see Carlton come from
behind to beat Collingwood.The photo depicts a few
stragglers,probably dejected Collingwood
supporters,clambering aboard 523 for the short trip
into town,There is an inspector supervising and in the
far background a couple of cars round the curve from
Flinders St. into Wellington Pde probably heading for
the depot after a day of running footy extras.Regards
