OK - here are 2 photos: the Wellington Cable Tram as promised, taken yesterday on its 100th birthday, and a line up of trolleybuses (at least 1 for every system that ever ran in New Zealand) lined up for the grand parade for the Trolley Bus Festival on 28 March 1999. The Festival was held to commemorate 50 years of continuous trolleybus operation in Wellington. I have dozens of such photos, but there is a limit to patience and bandwidth! Christchurch 210, of 1931 vintage, in front (believed to be the oldest operating trolleybus in the world).

 

There is, or was, a Wellington trolleybus website, but it used a very obscure URL which I lost when my PC was upgraded a while ago. I will try and find it.

I'm in favour of covering trolley buses in NZ and Australia on this group.

 

In much the same way as Peter's Muni History group covers trolley buses.

 

The technology is very similar and they did the same sort of work, often for operators who also ran trams.
