There is certainly not enough room for a tram the way it is now.
Thought the extended Eastern Freeway has reduced the traffic count.
Speaking of the Eastern Fwy. I know the Doncaster train was meant to
run down the middle of it, but we all know what happened there. Would
it be viable to put a light rail line down the guts of it instead.
Possibly putting the trams underground at the end of the Fwy, then
along Alexander Av, conecting with Route 86, or along the old Inner
Loop?
