Thanks for the photo of the recovery vehicle.
If I may be pickey it was built by AEC not Leyland.
Many were converted in this country for similar use and a few still exist in
the same duty

Now here was a vehicle equal to the task.

"R10" was in fact the radio call sign of the emergency
breakdown vehicle of the M&MTB. This particular
vehicle was R10 in 1968. It was a rebuilt exWW2 tank
recovery vehicle - a Leyland Matador I believe.
