Back in the glorious days when a PCC ran in
Melbourne.
1.............980 returns to the workshops after a
run.
2.............1041 cars into North Fitzroy after a run on
96.
Yes Greg......you are correct, it is Wellington at
Houghton Bay.
An old double saloon.
A despicable person named Stevens, who was a scrap dealer
bought heaps of Wellington cars.
They were all stored right next to Wellington Airport at
Rongotai.
For a while they sold like hot cakes.
In the end he was offering them for sale at bargain
basement rates delivered to any site.
One guy got one taken over the hill to the Wairarapa and
that was that.......
Stevens then towed them round the bays and burnt
them.
