Its raining.

G'day all,its supposed to be summer here in Melbourne
but outside my window its overcast and drizzling.The
rain made think of a particular photo so I thought I'd
attach it.I'm pretty sure its a Winter shot,pre 1970
at the former dead-end terminus in Bourke Street at
Spencer.Car 52 is running a fan special and 1011 is
the service car,the poles have been swung but the
driver hasn't turned the headlight yet.The building on
the extreme left with the pillars is the old Melbourne
Mail Exchange and a few doors up the four storey
building is Unity Hall,headquarters for the Australian
Tramway&Motor Omnibus Employees Association[Victorian
Branch].At the moment,like every second old building
in Melb.,it is being converted into apartments.I
worked at the Mail Exchange once,it employed
thousands,hence all the parked cars in an otherwise
absolutely dead Sunday morning Melbourne.Looks like 52
has just arrived,yhe pole this end is still tied down
and the driver hasn't left the cab.Regards all,Peter Bruce.
