Richard was a postie when I first me him. He was one of the pioneers
in modelling Australian trams is 1:24 scale, prior to become entranced
with 2' gauge "models". Exhibiting his 1:24 models for quite a number
of years at the Sydney Model Railway Exhibition in October.

The first year was a very rough track on planks with one fully
finished tram and a literal "cigar tin" work car. Later he had a
fully sceniced layout with several finished trams and operating motor
generator set in a sub station. His sheet brass Sydney P class
weighed a ton but ran beeutifully!!
