Come to think of it, Graeme, that would probably have been me driving 350 on the day you took that shot.

I took it up there for a shuttle we used to run from Deer Park West to Highpoint for shoppers.

Footscray blackbanned MkIIIs on the "little road" the 223 Williamstown Road bus that ran from Highpoint to Footscray, around past the depot, around into Victoria Street, down Gamon Street, and West on Somerville Road to Williamstown Road. The line followed an old tram line I think and had so many turns it was a ballbreaker with a Mk III.

So the only other bus route we had that went to Highpoint there was that shoppers bus which also always drew a Mk VI (but there was no union blackban on Mk IIIs on the Deer Park run).

Footscray was short of buses one day and the starter wanted me to hang around and wait for a Mk VI. I would have missed a trip so I volunteered to take 350.

It this had been born a tram, it would have been a Birney.
