Hi Bob,
No the W2's only had one and did pull up fine, especially cars with 26"
wheels.
Hav'nt driven a moded W yet, and no, you can't use the track brake
independantly as far as I know.

I never paid much attention but thought W-2s had two shoes per wheel. Theyenough
stopped fine for me.
We were still using cast iron shoes in Bendigo but I seldom went fast
to need a heavy brake application so don't really know how they would haveGreg?
been in emergencies.
Have you driven the modified W class with track brake in service yet,
Are they set up well. Can you operate the track brake independently of the
normal brake handle?
