An excellent history of this line is contained in the Watsons Bay
Line by David Keenan, published in about 1989/1990. A similar history
of the North Shore cable line is given by the same author in the
North Sydney Lines, published some time earlier.
The best history of the Melborne system, reputedly the largest system
under a simgle owner in the world is Mind the Curve by John Keating
1971, republished in the early 1990's.
I've been looking for a copy of Mind the Curve in a San Francisco Bay Area
library and so far have come up dry. I'll add the Sydney books to my wish
list.
