Whilst is was the norm, Walter, to run the cars consecutively, it was not always the case, especially at the end of the silver cars, when I was a Motorman there in 79-80, cars 361and 362 were usually run together, some time 360 and 361, but quite often, 360 and 378 or one of these and 380 would be mated for the peak express runs, it was always fun running these, being the last silver cars, they also had full destination blinds instead of the abreviated type in the rebuilt cars, so when moi was playing, the express could be going to Cheltenham, Morialta, Paradise, Henly, etc.

I was always  told that in Adelaide MU cars were never mixed and were always consecutively numbered.
