-Well Greg I'll try having a little rest,God knows I need it,but I have a sneaking feeling that my admittedly rather rigid sense of tramcar aesthetics won't change,I suppose I could try some different pills even. When you say"even later Ws",you must mean W4s,yeccch,I really hated them,to drive and look at.Subjectivity is a wonderful thing ain't it?,thanks for backing me up Murph, proviso, said W2 must have 28" wheels.Greg,I just spoke to John Stewart and urged him to join us here.PBruce.PS.interesting news about Ws and their new braking systems.-- In TramsDownUnder@y..., "Greg King" <tramway@a...> wrote:

Peter,
Yes, Neil is still at South, spoke to him today, only City Circles back at
the moment but have heard the new brake actuators that replace all under
body rigging, is fantastic, according to Neil, "best W he has ever driven".
Re W2's being best cars etc., really Bruce, I think you need a little rest,
I liked them too, but attractive, not by a long shot compared to a Brisbane
FM or Sydney R/R1 or even later W's!!
Greg-WGB,you have excelled yourself today, great shots of skinny trams, retemporary axle sets,I think they called them false trucks here on the
M&MTB,I am really dredging in my memory here, maybe someone can tell me if
I'm dreamin'.We need Neil Elfick on this list,is he still in the shed at
Southbank? He was a motorman in Brisbane, wasn't he?Spoke briefly to John
Stewart tonight, said he was training on Ws this week, presumably for their
re-introduction to service at Southbank, progress report Greg?,also maybe you
can answer re Neil.FM cars and Brisbane generally great but for looks an
unadorned W2 as in WGBs Batman Ave. shot umpteen posts ago gets my vote for
Australian tram of the century{millenium/s] neck and neck with Sydneys O
class,can I revive this potentially raging controversy?Regards to all,PBruce
