-WGB,you have excelled yourself today, great shots of skinny trams,re temporary axle sets,I think they called them false trucks here on the M&MTB,I am really dredging in my memory here, maybe someone can tell me if I'm dreamin'.We need Neil Elfick on this list,is he still in the shed at Southbank? He was a motorman in Brisbane, wasn't he?Spoke briefly to John Stewart tonight, said he was training on Ws this week, presumably for their re-introduction to service at Southbank, progress report Greg?,also maybe you can answer re Neil.FM cars and Brisbane generally great but for looks an unadorned W2 as in WGBs Batman Ave. shot umpteen posts ago gets my vote for Australian tram of the century{millenium/s] neck and neck with Sydneys O class, can I revive this potentially raging controversy?Regards to all,PBruce.-- In TramsDownUnder@y..., "oracletttco" <wgbtttco@b...> wrote:

You should have seen what used to happen when a car broke an axle or
had serious motor probs.
An even smaller temporary axle set was bolted to the bogie frame to
enable the car to be driven home.
