Sorry Bob,

Don't see the point, much of US systems are single end as well, those that
are'nt can convert them to double end like San Jose and Sydney, the point
being, if you have a system, LRT streetcar or tourist line in the US, you
are going to want a car that resembles a US car and that can be easilly used
as a traditional one man car, much as I love them, our W's don't come
anywhere near those two criteria, what about it Peter E???
Greg

Those Milan cars are single-ended, Greg and ours aren't.

Yes, Unfortunately, though we would all like to see the 200 plus cars
stored
at Newport and Preston, back in service, it will never happen, a large
amount have been "ratted" for parts anyway, to keep the rest of the
fleet
running. Hopefully some would go to museums with equipment from other
cars
going to museums that can use it to get cars with similar equipment to
get
running again (Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart had same/similar). I am
concerned
with the heritage cars (W1,2, 5, Y, Y1, etc.) that they be preserved,
presented and run in the appropriate manner.

By the way, the opportunity to save the bulk of those cars stored, by
selling them to the US, is long gone now that more appropriate cars for
the
US are available in Milan.

Greg

Which basically means finding good homes for a lot of stuff that is
otherwise likely either to be scrapped or sold to the highest bidder
overseas?
