G'day Peter E.My message 1205 was meant to address these distracting
issues, interesting though they are.I feel sure that once we have Ws operating
in service again that they, along with the Restaurant Cars will be an
effective precedent to occasional[at least]operation of the heritage fleet. In
the short term the operators may have enough trouble accepting W class
operation,I am reassured by Greg Kings message 1218 re W modification and
training.I would be concerned that Yarra and M might resist further
developements out of bloodymindedness if it is pushed too soon. That doesn't
mean that we shouldn't be thinking, planning and working towards some form of
heritage operation, maybe along the lines of Trolley Week...

Incremental approaches are often the best way to get things done. This--and
Greg's post regarding the mechanics getting the cars reworked--as a
condition of the Yarra Trams franchise--is encouraging news. Keep it up,
gang!
