G'Day
I have a particular interest in this tram, now under refurbishment by
the Perth Electric Tramway Society at Whiteman Park, WA.
I have a largish collection of prints of other Phoenix cars (FM's 547-
554), but the only photos I have seen of 550 is a side on shot of the
car with Chinzano Signage in the book Tramways of Australia and its
front nose at Light Street Depot in 1968.
I am wondering if anyone out there has any other photos of 550,
either in service 1963-1969 or in its retirement from 1969 onwards. I
would be very pleased to hear from you.
For those not in the know, this tram was stored outside for many
years and was in a rather rough state when it came into PETS
ownership. However, the bulk of the body has been refurbished to a
very high level by the Sydney Tramway Museum, prior to its long trek
across the continent.
Cheers
