Yes, it would be a little difficult to have 10 ft of centre section!! It's
one end, the reason this car was chosen was, it was there and, had a bad
body twist and the centre roof was rotten. I bought the whole thing, cut the
end off with an angle grinder (nearly getting sun stroke at the time) and
brought home, it's in poor shape and very soon I will have a roof over it so
I can get on with it'srestoration.

Ironically, when i got home after the initial purchase, I went through my
phots to see if I had a shot of the car, lo and behold, there was a shot of
me driving it when I was 15, back then, a friend of mine and I went to the
airport every weekend to photograph DC3's and annoy the maintenance staff. I
used to always have a look at the tram standing at the old airport terminus,
this day the kindly driver asked if I would like to look at the controls and
offered to let me drive it to where the former Bulla Rd crossed, my friend
took a shot as we were going over the crossover, you can just see me as a
dark figure with the driver beside me, that was the first time I had ever
driven a tram!

The car also rest on some length of former Victorian Railways tram track,
rescued from when they were remodelling around the front of the old St.
Kilda station at the opening of the LRT line. The car rests on mining skip
wheels (with extended axles) which sit on the track. I have all the
equipment (except time) to restore the car.

Cheers
Greg

I hope it's 10' from the #1 end including controls, Greg.

Any particular reason you guys chose that car?
