I believe 653 is not alone, according to the great oracle, Norm Cross, the
owner is a lady who wanted to restore it to it's service days and has bought
W5 839 from Rockbank, I'm sure you are aware of the significance of this car
and, it was a damn shame it was not kept as it was in excellent shape but
just went out the door with all the other three door cars. You may also be
aware it has no cabins, apparently Norm is attempting to arrange that to be
rectified.

By the way, 607 was a nice car to operate and was an attractive car till
they painted it with legal graffiti. And 340 with it's nice spur gears till
it fell victim to the same "art work". I remeber running a tour in that car
fresh from overhaul with freshly overhauled trucks and spur gears, must have
been about the last set turned out
Here Mot

For those who don't know ( Combino Kid ??) W2 653 is now situated on
the Geelong - Queenscliff Road.
It has been very well turned out and repainted into MMTB colours with
all the numbers and decals.

Another W2 is for sale near the Point Cook airport.

"Combino Kid....."
The caption for that picture of my ex at Essensdon on post 944
reads...."In the picture, Denise gets 607 ready...."
Where did you get the idea it was 340 ???
(340, now thats another Story :-))

When are you going to join the group ?
your experiences over the years would be very interesting to us all.

I know at the moment it all seems very quiet.......It needs a few
active guys to fire them up, but when they get going, LOOK OUT !

I saw another W2 at Albany in Queensland and another at Grong Grong
in NSW, but that car had disappeared when checked earlier this year.
