Current W Class trams in service and withdrawals

Hi all, just adding my two cents worth to the W class debate. I finished up with Yarra Trams just over one year ago, but when I left we were having discussions from an Oh&S viewpoint about the state of W class trams. We had a few in very poor condition, and the decision was taken to make more use of the ex MTRAM W class cars at PWS and restore the best of them to service. I have some numbers written below but not all.
CITY CIRCLE:
Car 842 Collision damage 2005 replaced by 961
Car 862 Collision damage replaced by 1010
Car 909 Collision damage, has since been repaired returning to service this year.
GREEN W CLASS CARS:
Car 935 stored bad condition replaced in service by 1005 ex PWS
Car 964 as above and paintwork replaced by 845 ex PWS
Car 983 used for spare parts from 2007 replaced by 896 ex PWS
Car 1021 major collision damage 2008 stored. But then repaired, still stored at PWS hasn't turned a wheel since, replaced by 852?
Car 1027 Bad condition replaced by 907 ex PWS.

That is all that I know of but im out of the system now and dont keep as many records, all of the trams on the left have donated their ticket machines and pantographs to the trams on the right to get them into service, and unless the cars are required to run again I doubt if they will ever turn a wheel again!

They all require an overhaul before they are used again, thats why YARRA TRAMS took the cheap option and returned the others into service! And thats why I dont like Yarra Trams!

Alastair.
