Photo from Doug Prosser.

G'day all, we had a pleasant gathering at "The Duke" t'other night to meet Graham and Polly Lees from W.A.

Doug Prosser was there and presented me with the attached photo of me and 896 passing the horse tram at South Melbourne Loop, thanks Doug. Not sure of the year, maybe 1975? and I think a Saturday and obviously during the warmer months. I think a Saturday because of the run number, I don't think we made it to 28 run on those sparsely serviced Sundays back then.

The other photo is an enlargement of the neddy powered tram.... are there some more youthful TDUs there? Could that be Len Millar in profile?

I await developments.

Best regards,

Peter Bruce.

P.S. Rode part of the way home with Mal Rowe, a standing load out of town. A ten minute service is needed on the 59 and 19 routes probably until last car. Lygon Street, having two services, already has 10 minute headways until late.
