Ron Scholten has passed on to me a series of slides and postcards from
his collection.
Many of them date from the period when he operated a sales business on
behalf of the TMSV from the family shoeshop in Flinders St.
I'll share them from time to time as I am able to scan and clean up.
Here's the first.
It's a postcard of the Corso at Manly and appears to show a horse tram.
I found a reference to these in the PowerHouse museum site:
http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/database/?irn=207034
It seems that the horse trams ran only from 1903 to 1907.
I think the postmark is 15 May 1909.
.... over to the Sydney mob to fill in the details!
Mal Rowe ... who visited Manly once - long after all trams had disappeared.
