For some reason it puts me in mind of those mine carts or factory
trolleys they used before forklifts.

But is it a tram? Was that railed trolley they used in "The Great
Escape" a tram? It carried passengers along a thoroughfare so I guess it
falls into the category.

What about the vehicle on the right in this picture taken on Rottnest
about a hundred years ago? It was definitely a horse drawn tram, even
though it looks like a horse and cart on rails.

Is there an undisputed definition of "tram"?
