Thank you Tim for your 30.4.08 picture of Rozelle Depot.

Here is my contribution showing the old place in happier times 55 1/2 years ago with almost brand new Sydney 'R1' 2049 on track 19 of Rozelle Depot on 13 September, 1952.

Two points to note --

1. 'R1' 2049 had at that time not received it's 'battle scars" on the bumper from butting the Balmain Counterweight dummy down to Darling St Wharf.
2. The second series (post WW2) Sydney R1 cars were not fitted with the hinged spring loaded bars at the end doorways as were earlier R and R1 cars. (I had never seen these bars used for their intended purpose -- to discourage boarding the tram on the off side).
