Here is a photo that someone has taken from a newspaper or other publication. The trams are cable trams, and there are no electric trains on the viaduct yet. Horse drawn wagons carry the freight along Flinders Street.

We see a cable tram crashing through the special work on its way to Richmond. Two cable trams cross in front of us, one headed for South Melbourne and the other for Spring Street. Two other cable sets pass each other almost under the bridge, maybe one is heading for Port Melbourne?
