TAN: Regional tramway proposals

Mick
I think it was the invisible as distinct from independent tramway!
There was also the South Loftus Underground Tramway but, on a visit
many years ago, I was unable to find any trace of it.
I went to the Surrey Hills independent theatre several times when I
was growing up in the 1950s; I remember the Disney family movie "The
Shaggy Dog".
That area of Union Road is now quite "trendy" with several well
patronised coffee shops.
All are quite close to the railway station and the Victorian
headquarters of an international rail news gathering organisation.
The "licensed" supermarket on the corner of Canterbury and Union Roads
at Surrey Hills was one of the first establishments in the great grey
eastern suburbs dry areapermitted to sell red wine and other liquor.
