Especially if it derailed in Swanston St, fell over on to its side and
blocked all other traffic!

On 30th July 1948, Hobart number 49 derailed in Sandy Bay Rd (to the right
of St. David's Park) and fell over as shown in the following three
photographs which I got from Elliott Bros, who are the crane company who
uprighted number 49. Note the damage to the upper deck structure and the
missing bow-collector. Elliott Bros still operate from the same site today,
which is a short distance further down Sandy Bay Rd from the accident scene.

Loftus (SPER) own Hobart No. 20 (the same as No. 49), which I believe is
still in Bendigo with little or no restoration work done on it.
