Rail removal Sydney Harbour Bridge
  Bob Merchant

Rail on the bridge and approaches was gas cut and loaded onto ballast motors for transport to North Sydney. Here gas bottles are being unloaded from 98U which had been transferred from the main system to assist with the demolition work. The location is Blue Street, just before North Sydney railway station and the point where the trams left the roadway and entered the "railway" right-of-way. The date is 24 July 1958.

Cheers,
Bob
