Re: Brisbane crossbench car crossing Breakfast Creek

Hey all,
It looks like one of the early Standard Centre Aisle ('Dreadnoughts') trams.  Its a bogie car, but has no clerestory roof, which rules the 'Brill' 12 bench crossbench cars, as these had clerestory roofs.  It could be one of the former bogie trailers (which didn't have clerestory roofs) but the seats are too far apart and there doesn't seem to be a footboard along the entire length of the body.
The date (c1924) is about right, based on the motor vehicle at left.

This pic showed up on Facebook and I rather like the silhouette of car

It was said to date from 1924.

The car seems to be one of the variations of Brisbane bogie crossbench
cars, but could be a 'Dreadnought'.
