Buses replace trains on sections of the Belgrave line until April (works). [Ringwood - Bayswater]
Frankston line: Trains will not stop at Parkdale until mid 2024 (level-crossing removal work). Shuttle buses will operate Mentone - Parkdale - Mordialloc, connecting with trains. No access to station facilities or platforms during this time.
8.56 Werribee/Williamstown lines: Major delays through Footscray (a vehicle hit Napier St bridge). Trains may remain stationary for extended periods at or between stations. trains may terminate/originate at intermediate stations.
- 9.15 Infrastructure crews are enroute to assess damage.
- 9.24 Delays clearing. Stopping patterns may be changed.
14.39 Sunbury line: Buses to replace trains Sunshine - Sydenham Watergardens (emergency services attending to a serious incident). Buses ordered, ETA 60 min. Consider alternative transport for local trips.
- 15.54 buses are in operation, adding 45 min.
- 16.44 Trains are resuming. First trains: 16.20 ex Flinders St; 16.36 ex Sunbury.
- 16.46 Fantastic work by all involved to get trains back up and running before peak hour got into full swing.
- 17.04 was there anyway to let the people on buses know? I have been sitting on a bus in heavy traffic since 16.10.
- 17.08 The line was clear for rail traffic at around 16.40. Buses that were already in operation and replacing trains will generally complete their runs and supplement services until the rail timetable is restored. We can't make announcements to buses, but the resumption message was posted to our website/app and here on X.
- 18.05 Little early for a shout: no limited express to Sunbury for the last 50 min; heaps of us baking in the sun at Footscray.
16.55 Craigieburn line: Major delays clearing after an external power fault. trains may terminate/originate at intermediate locations, and may be altered.
Frankston line: Buses replace trains South Yarra - Mordialloc from 20.30 until the last train tonight (maintenance and other works).
Werribee/Williamstown lines: Buses replace trains North Melbourne - Newport/Williamstown from 21.00 until the last train (maintenance works).
Pakenham/Cranbourne lines: All trains direct to/from Flinders St from 21.00 until the last train (maintenance works). From Southern Cross or loop stations, take a train to Flinders St [inbound Werribee, or special city circle].
Sandringham line: Buses replace trains South Yarra - Elsternwick from 21.00 until the last train (maintenance works).
Trains operate as a shuttle service between Melbourne Southern Cross and Sunbury/Craigieburn from 21.30 until the last train (works). From Flinders St, take a train from pfm 9 to SC.
Public transport disruptions are coming up this Autumn (infrastructure projects).
