Re: Media follow-up to my series on Sydney’s incompatible metros

This numpty has had the honour of an answer from the current Labor
Transport Minister, no less, supporting the decisions of the previous
government, for reasons that are well known. The first line incorporated
sections of existing suburban lines, so the existing power system was
adopted. All new lines will be AC. The rolling stock for each line is
tailored to the requirements of that line. The Airport line has
purpose-designed rolling stock that's different from the others. It's
likely that Metro West may have the same trains as the original line, but I
wouldn't necessarily count on it. A few other things he doesn't seem to
understand.
