The other GP route from Spencer St runs down Clarendon St and terminates at the loop siding in Albert Rd - very close to one of the GP entrance gates.

6071 and 6079 were there around lunchtime.  I managed to catch an express ride back to the city.

I was the only passenger leaving the GP site.

My observation was that east west travel in LaTrobe St and Bourke St was not adequately served.  A lot of people arrive at Southern Cross - both by train and the Airport bus - they were crowded on stops in Bourke St and LaTrobe St looking hopefully for a tram to arrive.

The other event that's on at the moment is the Flower & Garden show at the exhibition buildings.  To serve that route 30 was altered (as 30a) to connect the Exhibition with Flinders St and Spencer St via Spring St and today was served by A class trams.  The E's were all on GP shuttles.  243 was at LaTrobe St and Swanston St when I grabbed a shot.

In order to move the petrol heads to and from Albert Park route 82, the southern end of route 96  and the northern part of route 12 have been bustituted for the duration of the event.

Mal Rowe - leaving the city for better places this weekend
