Daniel sounds like a middle aged worker who's become fed up with being told
one thing by senior management when he starts a new job, then finds out
things are completely different once he's out in the field.

Daniel also sounds like a friend of a friend who had an identical
experience with a large bus operation just a few weeks ago. In fact the ABC
story was so familiar I had to double check but my friend's friend is in
Melbourne. Same story though, rushed training, support promised but not
delivered, concerns dismissed, last minute roster changes, etc.

My friend's friend only lasted about six weeks too.
