Each tram has its own number (1-60) and can operate independently, but they are semi- permanently coupled in pairs for operation on the CSE line.

And they seem to have invented a 13th W8. Have they done another conversion on the quiet?

Can we trust YT to count trams? They don't seem to be able to count wheels under the D2 class!

The official Yarra Trams figures are on their website at:
https://kor01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyarratrams.com.au%2Four-fleet-today&data=05%7C01%7C%7C5da7bf04abfa48dcd71308db07db4b6b%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C638112410715670214%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=LlKv43ejynRg7%2BOg8KMxbL5xDDMdu1DamSs8%2B%2B5%2FXl8%3D&reserved=0

As you will see, they claim 520 at the top of the page.

If you add up the numbers by class it comes to 526.

There are now only 101 Z3s in service - not 114 as listed.  9 of them
are recent withdrawals of non-refurbished Z3s which have gone to Newport.

For those interested in detail, the Z3s at Newport are: 133, 120, 136,
137, 138, 144, 190, 197 and 208.

So choose your answer, but I would go for around 510.
