I suspect a heavy haul trucking company would find a way to move just
about anything you asked them to. But the roads authority may have other
ideas.
The 7 segment CAF cars sold to Budapest went in 3 sections and final
assembly was done in their new home depot. The 5 segment CAF cars
shipped to Australia were on the ship in 2 parts , in 3 and 2 module
parts. The final assembly was done in Port Kembla before being delivered
as complete cars.
The Sydney Citadis shipped from Spain arrived in Sydney in 2 parts,
final assembly was at Randwick depot.
It appears the Gold Coast Flexity cars arriving fully assembled was an
exception. Presumably the road hauler found and got approved a path for
the long load from port to depot.
