Yeah, nah, far more sensible to do it now while all machinery, diggers, sleepers, road closures/diversions are in place. Would cost much more in dollars, time and troube to do later.

I bet YT regret not putting in all the Park/Clarendon curves when they dug up that intersection years ago.

The Flinders to Spencer Street curves are not in regular use but I've seen trams "not in service" use them so too much infrastructure is always better than too little.

If I'm not mistaken, Metro is going the other way removing infrastructure by straight railing Caulfield to reduce and eliminate versatility and route options in the event of track or rolling stock faults.
