I am sure you are right Mal.

I would also postulate that they would not have even considered 'easing the gauge' (that is slightly increasing the track gauge beyond 1435 mm) as was done by the NSW Tramways under the guidance of Dr. John Bradfield and also by the M&MTB.

How long would Yarra Trams have allowed for this type and scope of work to be undertaken in Melbourne, especially given that Yarra would have undetaken such work by the engagement of contractors?
