Re: Re: Parliament committee wants to roll back Sydney bus privatisation

I've been getting the impression that if it is a query/problem the operator can solve, you have a good chance of them responding.
If it has to involve TfNSW, you will most likely be ignored.

Cases are "closed" when they are referred to the operator. There appears to be no further follow up to ensure the matter has been handled.

A few weeks ago I put in a query via Transport Info about a private bus service. Within two days it had been referred to the operator and the operator responded promptly both by email and by phone. I don't think there's a consistent pattern. My most successful representations over the years have been through local members (both Labor and Liberal).

The Minister (the reply being drafted by TfNSW) only replies to
government MPs.

Non government MP's letters get replied to by the Parliamentary
Secretary (drafted by TfNSW), a government backbencher who gets paid
more as he answers for the Minister (and gets extra salary for so doing).

Letters from the general public get a direct reply from TfNSW beginning
"I have been directed by the Minister", about as genuine as a $3 coin.

As for the papers unless it comes under the "if it bleeds, it leads"
they are not interested.

Sometimes, even for a government member, the reply takes longer than 7
months.

Transport Info is a pure spin device to hide and ignore genuine complains.
