Actually the  'sun roof' and a cleverly positioned mirror enabled the
track driver to observe the work going on on the overhead and enabled
him to position the truck accordingly.

In addition a tramway gong enabled the aloft workers to signal those on
the ground by a series of signals for up/down, rotation of the platform etc.
