I understand all of that but how does one fix the problem? It has reached the stage now where, if one of us has an appointment at Miranda, we will drive to Engadine station and go by train even though it involves a change at Sutherland. One must allow time for the connection as Sydney Trains do not appear to understand that concept. The bus is actually quicker if it turns up but…..

The problem you're identifying there Geoff is not just a rogue poor operator, but a government transport agency that is not managing contracts as well as it should. TfNSW is, unfortunately, one of the more laid back transport agencies, as we've seen with tram projects. We need to bring PTA WA over here to inctil more professionalism and discipline.
