I should also add that the currently derelict site to the east of the former Port Melbourne station and current tram terminus (ie 1-7 Waterfront Place) is also to be developed with two ten storey residential towers totally 119 dwellings, a yuppie supermarket - sorry, a provedore - and a gym on ground floor; a permit to overshadow the foreshore footpath the in the week of the winter solstice, when the benefit of winter sun would be felt most acutely was knocked back and the design is to be set back to avoid overshadowing (even though "there's 11km of unshaded foreshore" according to one submission to VCAT).

The site was formerly a gym and tennis court but fell into disuse after a suspicious "stocktake?" fire.
