Hi Greg,

In their day, the trams would have been diverted to the parallel Queen St but that can’t be done now with the buses as Queen St is a mall and the other parallel streets, Ann, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Mary, Margaret and Alice are all one way.

It does not appear that the buses could be or were diverted. Essentially the bus system was brought to a halt for some considerable time.
