At the time of the article I think they were arguing over rail corridor
vs Hunter Street  vs other. What the ended up with was a combination of
the rail corridor, Hunter Street then Scott Street.

I think there was some discussion of running all the way down Hunter
Street, but the idea of closing the east end of Hunter street totally to
cars had the few remaining shop keepers in all of a dither.
