As t turns out, government agencies publish different versions of who is
the head of state, so that's no guide. There's plenty of material for
midnight debates over a bottle of wine!

The Queen could be as angry as she wanted over the Whitlam dismissal, but
she had no right to be as she has no role in it. That's for the Governor
General. That dismissal was, constitutionally, a 100% Australian affair.
