Melbourne has just completed another of it's well know high speed track relay projects.

About 1.5km of double track tramway was renewed in a couple of weeks and a couple of bridges were strengthened.

The pics show some of the work and a couple of the Z3 class trams with auxiliary destinations during the works.

The Z3s date from between 1979 and 1984.  101 of the original 115 have just had a 'half life rebuild' that should see them running for a few more years.
