The attached pic is from the collection of the State Library of NSW and they date it as circa 1950.

592 still has its wartime blackout era white paint stripes and has the T shaped set of reflectors fitted to a small number of W2s

A horse drawn cart is probably delivering bread or milk to the good folk at the top of the hill at Russell St.

The view has not changed much in the last 70 years - largely because Russell St is the eastern boundary of the height limit for city buildings. The 4 storey building at left beside 592 now houses a Louis Vuitton shop.

The W2s have gone!
